In a bid to discover Malawi’s next music stars, Akometsi Entertainment has launched the Mkometsi Voice competition, offering a platform for aspiring artists to showcase their talents.

The Mkometsi Voice competition will feature 36 contestants, who will compete in auditions set to take place on September 11, 2024, in Lilongwe, the capital city.

“We encourage participants from all regions of the country to take part—this is an opportunity for emerging artists to gain recognition,” Akometsi stated.

Akometsi has announced that the winner of the Mkometsi Voice competition will receive a promotional deal, including full coverage of three music videos. The second-place winner will receive two music videos, while the third-place winner will get one music video.

Akometsi is currently inviting talented artists to register for the competition.

Known for promoting up-and-coming musicians, Akometsi has previously helped to bring artists like Pop Young, Emmie Deebo, Qaso, and Diego into the spotlight.
