Hip Hop artist Hayze Engola, a former member of the Home Grown African (HGA) music group, has hinted at a potential comeback, revealing that he’s been in communication with his former groupmate, Classick.
Hayze shared the news during a live session on the Chitoliro Productions Facebook page. The session is part of an initiative to bring stars closer to their fans ahead of the highly anticipated UMP Festival, where Hayze is set to headline.
It has been over three years since the duo’s last project, and fans have been eagerly awaiting a new collaboration. Addressing the possibility, Hayze said,
“I’ve been talking to Classic about working on a project together, so we’ll see how that goes. Hopefully, we get some studio time together. Me and Classick should do the necessary to release an album.”
In addition to his music career, Hayze is also an entrepreneur. He runs a popular clothing brand called KNQR, which has become a favorite among the youth in Malawi.
Since the group disbanded, Hayze has released solo hits like “Kaneneni” and “Matafale,” which have made waves across the country. This October, he will headline the UMP Festival. Notably, Hayze is the only Malawian Hip Hop artist to appear on Forbes’ list of young entrepreneurs under 30.
“It was a real pleasure for me to appear on the Forbes list,” Hayze said.
“It makes me proud to be the first Malawian musician to do so. It’s a true honor, and I couldn’t have done it without the support of everyone in Malawi. The whole country backed me as both a musician and an entrepreneur.”
