Regarded as one of the very best new wave of talent making a mark on the local music arena Pemphero Eliya alias Fada Moti is a fast rising amapiano artist who has taken the industry by storm and is creating sounds that resonate with a diverse audience in Malawi .

The Bangwe based amapiano sensation interest in music started at a tender age when he used to explore different sounds and draws his inspiration from real life experiences , He had always aspired to create unique songs that explore themes that other artists may not incorporate into their music.

Against all odds he has worked tirelessly to establish his name and now his music is gaining momentum with chart-topping singles over the past months since he put the industry on notice with “Mudyera”” in 2023 .

Before making a breakthrough with “Mudyera” Fada Moti was a reggae dancehall artist then known as Jahsper Jahgah and worked on various projects like “Whom” , “Kachimalawi” , “Drop it down” and an extended playlist titled “South Side Seed” , he also worked on some songs as a member of Gangrasta Property music clique a now defunct trio of himself , Zonke and dancehall artist M’buka man .

“Gangrasta is still part of me though we all embarked on our solo music journey’s , we remain brothers said Fada Moti in a recent interview .

FADA MOTI who got nominated for the Maso awards in 2023 in the best new artist category is reaping the rewards of his humility and talent, as his artistic endeavours continues to grow he has graced almost all big concerts held in Malawi this year we can simply say he is the most booked artist locally at this moment.

His songs like “Phumanje” “Angelo” ,”Weekend” “Musandithawe” and “Kuwala” are banging everywhere from the streets to clubs and homes solidifying his position as a serial hitmaker of the Gen Z

Recently Chitoliro Productionz added the “Kutali” hitmaker as one of local music acts to headline it’s forthcoming UMP Festival slated for October 25-28 at Cape Maclear in Mangochi .

The festival which returns after a long break features a music conference, panel discussions, fashion , sports and music performances from various international and local artists among them Nigeria’s Magixx and South Africa’s Deep London with the main aim being promoting tourism and economic development in Malawi through arts .

“it’s a pleasure to be part of this festival and i commend the organisers (Chitoliro Productionz) for this gesture , am geared to deliver my best at this big stage and fans should except fireworks he said .

On fans comparing him with fellow amapiano star Zeze Kingston , Fada Moti said people opinions can often be confusing and distracting, but he is always focused on his music career , to create good music and broaden his fan base beyond Malawi.
